Frank Köster is founding director of the DLR Institute for AI Safety and Security at Sankt Augustin and Ulm. The Institute for AI Safety and Security provides research and development services in the following target fields: Industrialisation of AI for safety-critical systems and systems with high security requirements; AI engineering based on improved AI methods and algorithms - Safety and security as an integral aspect of system development or "by design"; Secure distributed data infrastructures; Advanced execution environments and innovative computing approaches – including quantum computing; Examination of ethical, legal and social aspects within the context of AI by means of an inter/transdisciplinary approach. The Institute for AI Safety and Security is located within the DLR Digitalisation section and contributes its findings to applications in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security.

In addition to his work at DLR, Frank Köster is also a professor at the University of Oldenburg, where he heads the department of Intelligent Transportation Systems. He is also scientific director at OFFIS in Oldenburg. Frank Köster is a Member of the Board at ASAM and is a advisory professor at Tongji University in China. He is the ambassador of the Mobility domain within GAIA-X and a member of the national round table for automated and networked driving. He represents DLR in various national, European and international institutions as well as research and development initiatives.

Dr. Nir Bitansky is a faculty member at the Blavatnik School of Computer Science at Tel-Aviv University and a member of the Check Point Institute of Information Security. He received his Ph.D from Tel Aviv University in 2015. Before joining Tel-Aviv he was a postdoc at MIT. He is interested in the theory of computation at large, and cryptography in particular.

Dajana Gajic-Fisic is a Head of ecommerce Risk Operations for JD Sports US/ The Finish Line and has been in the fraud industry for over 18 years. Currently Dajana is in charge of risk operations and oversees payment security, transactional fraud screening, ATO, policy abuse, loyalty program abuse and any additional post fulfilment risks to which merchants may be exposed.

During her career, Dajana had the opportunity to work with many known retail brands, as well as with financial institutions. As the result of her experience Dajana has created and adopted a unique approach to risk mitigation operations. This 360 approach focuses on segmenting fraud/risk operations into four components: prevention, investigation, reporting and analytics, and strategy. Each component feeds into the next one, creating a holistic picture of the fraud and risk, helping organizations learn from the historical data and be proactive. In addition, to identify key players within an organization and make them part of the process. The goal is to increase cross department collaboration as well as collaboration with third party vendors for most successful risk management. This helps ensure that all internal and external key players are operating in the way that feeds into the larger enterprise’s target: to increase revenue at minimal risk, with minimal friction.

For this unique approach and successes that followed, Dajana was named by a Retail Info Systems, a 2019 Industry Pacesetter: Fast Rising Retail Executive. 

Mr Christoph Müller was recently appointed as Head of Defence Research at the German Aerospace Center’s (DLR) overall Program Coordination for Defence & Security Research coordinating about fifty cross-cutting projects with a volume of forty-five MEUR. He previously served as the Executive Officer of the Applied Vehicle Technology Panel at the NATO Science & Technology Organization in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, from 2017 to early 2020.

He also served twelve years in the German Armed Forces implementing and commanding an Explosive Ordnance Disposal platoon specialized in CBRNe including one assignment to the International Security Assistant Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Mr Müller holds two Masters’ Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration.

Ibrahim Al Najjar is leading the Information Technology department of DP World, UAE Region where innovative solutions and IT service offerings are provided to a wide range of business units that cover shipping, transport, and logistics industries along with integrations across the supply chain entities. The IT department of DP World is a pioneer in business enablement and enrichment through technology and continuously explores, design and implement the latest disruptive innovations.

Originally from Hungary, Réka has been living in Israel for more than ten years. She made aliyah after years of work and volunteering in the Hungarian Jewish community. Studying Talmud at the Hebrew University and working as a vet technician in JPSCA were short detours before she started working for Riskified as an analyst over four years ago. Her job includes analysing patterns and anomalies, training models and creating new features at the Data Science department.

Shay Levi is the Co-Founder and CTO at Noname Security, a leading pioneer in the API security space. As a cybersecurity expert, Shay leads the innovation and engineering efforts that address the growing API risks enterprises face. Prior to co-founding Noname Security, Shay was a Sr. Software Engineer at Facebook and R&D Team Lead at ironSource. Professor Irad Ben-Gal is the head of the Laboratory of AI Business & Data Analytics (LAMBDA) at the Engineering Faculty in Tel Aviv University. He held a visiting professor position at Stanford University, teaching “analytics in action” and co-heading the TAU/Stanford “Digital Living 2030” research initiative that focuses on future challenges of modern digital life.

Irad is a world-renowned expert in practical machine learning, statistical process control and predictive analytics with more than 20 years of experience in the field, including R&D collaborations with companies such as Oracle, Intel, GM, AT&T, Applied Materials and Nokia. He wrote four books, published more than 100 scientific papers and patents, supervised dozens of graduate students and received numerous awards for his work. Irad is the co-founder and chairman of CB4 (“See Before”), a startup backed by Sequoia Capital that provides predictive analytics solutions to retail organizations. He is an advisory board member in several startup companies that focus on AI applications.

Yossi Matias is Vice President, Engineering, at Google. He is leading strategic efforts in Search (Google Autocomplete, Search Live Results, Google Trends, Search Console), Conversational AI (Google Duplex, Call Screen, Live Caption, Read Aloud), and other Research initiatives (from foundations to applications in Health). He is the global lead of Crisis Response (SOS Alerts, Public Alerts, Flood Forecasting), and is a founding co-lead of Google’s AI for Social Good initiative.

Yossi is the founding Managing Director of Google's Center in Israel, which he established and grew to over 1500 on staff. He is on the board of IATI and co-chair of its multinational company forum. He is the founding exec lead of Google for Startup Campus Tel Aviv, and of Launchpad and other global entrepreneurship programs. 

Prof. Matias is on the CS faculty of Tel Aviv University, and previously a Research Scientist at Bell Labs and visiting professor at Stanford. He published extensively, has over 60 patents on his name, and pioneered some of the early technologies for the effective analysis of big data, internet privacy, and contextual search. 

Yossi is an ACM Fellow and a recipient of the Godel Prize and of the Kanellakis Theory and Practice Award for seminal work on the foundations of streaming algorithms and their application to large-scale data analytics.

Nicole Celikkesen is Manager for Digital Transformation in Africa and has been working for GIZ since 2018. Initially as a consultant for BMZ focusing on artificial intelligence, data, economic cooperation, and risks and impact assessment of technologies, she moved to GIZ's Africa division in 2019. Prior to GIZ, she worked at re:publica, the largest European conference on digital society, as part of the leadership team responsible for partners and collaborations. Before that, she worked for 16 years in the fields of communication/PR, brand-building and strategy consulting with a focus on innovation development, communication mechanisms in the digital space, community building and activation, negative activism (radicalisation, propaganda) as well as digital rights and internet/technology culture.

Boris Cipot is a senior sales engineer at Synopsys. He helps companies of all shapes and sizes to create secure software. Boris joined Synopsys when Black Duck Software was acquired in 2017. He specialises in open source software security, robotics, and artificial intelligence. He has also worked in the cybersecurity field since 2003 in anti-malware software at F-Secure and Avira.

Tali Hatuka (B.Arch, MSc., PhD), is a Professor of Urban Planning and the Head of the Laboratory of Contemporary Planning and Urban Design, at Tel Aviv University (lcud.tau.ac.il). Her work is focused primarily on two fields: (1) urban society (i.e., public space, conflicts and dissent); and (2) city design and science (i.e., industrial areas, technology, and big data). Her current major project is The City in the Digital Age, with a focus on the fourth industrial revolution. Her forthcoming book with Prof. Eran Ben Josep (MIT), New Industrial Urbanism, soon to be published (Routledge, 2021).

Dr. Kanwaljit Singh is a Senior Program Officer in the Financial Services for the Poor team and leads its efforts in developing a portfolio of investments in the areas of digital identity, cybersecurity in digital financial services and applications of emerging technologies to accelerate financial inclusion.

Kanwaljit graduated from Cornell University with a Ph.D. in Physical Organic Chemistry (2006) and joined the Components Research division at Intel Corporation in Portland, Oregon. At Intel, Kanwal led multiple teams tasked with investigating advanced technologies in materials science, semiconductor fabrication, device integration and reliability. As a chair of multiple strategic research sectors, Kanwaljit was responsible for driving advanced technology research efforts over six generations of Moore’s law in industry, academia and consortia-led engagements through Intel’s corporate research council.

In 2012, Kanwaljit was awarded Intel’s highest honor, the “Intel Achievement Award” for industry-defining impact with contributions enabling the 10-nm node. In 2016, Kanwal joined Intel’s Quantum Computing group and was appointed as Intel’s assignee to Qutech (a collaboration between Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research and Delft University of Technology) in the Netherlands, leading an effort in developing and scaling silicon-based quantum computing across multiple core research areas in physics, electronics, cryogenics and computation. Kanwaljit has authored over 100 patents and publications in peer reviewed literature on semiconductor research and quantum computing.
